Our Dad's group recently got involved with a local film-maker to create a video about reading with children. This aims to give parents some hints about enjoying reading at home with their children. Click here to see the film.

Darnell and Nadhiir were winners in a local poetry competition! Their winning poems are printed below - and will also be published in local magazine 'Up Our Street'. Both boys won i-pod shuffles, which were presented in assembly by Stacey Yelland from Easton and Lawrence Hill Neighbourhood Management. Nadhiir's mum accepted the prize on his behalf as he was out at swimming.

The Space Dome came to Hannah More on the 7th May and Year 1 learnt all about the planets!

Each week this term we have focused on one of our school values and the children have carried out a challenge related to this. In week one, the Determination challenge was to create something to show what determination meant to them We had poems and videos and sculptures and art work! In week 2 the Openness challenge was for each class to introduce themselves to a mystery visitor and to learn by listening about that visitor. Governors, Business Partners and local community members visited the classes and were impressed with the chiildren's confidence and enthusisam. The third values challenge was about nurture and every child in the school has planted a sunflower seed. The challenge is to nurture that sunflower so it grows as tall as it can. We are looking forward to a fabulous crop of sunflowers on the school field in September.
