The council also have an emergency fund; this is for people in crisis, for example if you have no money for food or fuel.  You can apply for this here.

Parents are involved in many ways at Hannah More. We invite parents to special events and to share our learning. We run classes and workshops for parents. We have a PTA (parent teacher association) who can be contacted at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . They raise money for school by organising cake sales, fairs, discos and more! They provide a chance to get together to help the school and to meet new friends. They are a very welcoming group!

We also have a Parents' Voice group where you can find out about the latest developments, meet governors and raise concerns. The next meeting is Friday 4th Feb at 9.30 (after assembly) and the meeting will run again on zoom the following Tuesday at 8pm. At this meeting  Governors want to seek opinions from parents about Headteacher recruitment. The meeting will also follow up on points raised at the last  meetings, including actions the school has taken around improving behaviour in school. The notes from the last meetings are below.

Parents' Voice notes - 9 November 2021  Parents' Voice Zoom meeting notes - 16 November 2021

We also have a 'Friends' group, who secure grant funding for the school and its community. We would welcome more committee members! The latest Annual Report  can be read here. The Friends recently registered as a charity - their number is 1196297. Friends recently funded some cycling initiatives and the report can be read here.  Friends of Hannah More can be contacted by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. Bridging Gaps are a group of women from school from different backgrounds who are interested in sharing their culture and learning about other cultures.  In the past they have run training to help people to be more culturally aware and more confident to speak to people from different backgrounds. Their twitter account https://twitter.com/gapsbridging and this recent article from Bristol 247 give a flavour. https://www.bristol247.com/news-and-features/features/mini-library-set-up-by-parents-working-to-build-bridges-across-cultures/ Their flyer can be seen here and their training offer is here.

An interesting report to Sport England about some ladies' fitness, netball and golf was produced in December 2020 - read this here.

Mums' fitness (in the sports hall) is on Monday mornings 9-10 and restarts on January 24th.

Mindfulness is running on Wednesday mornings - the current course is full but a further course will run later in the year. Cooking will run once the community room extension is completed.

We are also involved in a new community history project wiht the SS Great Britain, focusing on journeys and culture. See the newsletter or ask Ruth for more information.

We also have a new family arts programme starting soon - this will be afterschool on Thursdays for invited children and parents.
