Parents are invited to come and experience teaching and learning at Hannah More next week. This is the third Open Morning we have run in school and feedback from visitors has been really positive. If you would like to observe a class then you need to book a slot - we can only fit a few parents into each classroom! More information is available here. We look forward to welcoming you.

We are really pleased that our online payment system is now set up. Letters explaining this were sent home on 30th April. You can pay for school meals, trips and camps. You can also order school uniform. Once you have registered, you can access the payment system here.

This morning we were really pleased to welcome some special visitors in assembly. A string quartet from Sinfonia Cymru played especially for us. This is all part of Bristol Proms which is taking place at the Old Vic theatre.

Eclipse!

20 March 2015

On 20 March we had a special morning because of the Eclipse! We started the morning with an outdoor breakfast, with delicious criossants provided by the Ibis hotel at Temple Quay. We also had help from three scientists from the Institute of Physics, who helped to explain the Eclipse to us. Thank you for your help!

On 4th March a group of mums from Hannah More visited the Lady Mayoress at the Mansion House in Clifton. All the mums joined the cycling course that we ran at school last year. Some mums will also feature in a special film whcih is being made, all about sustainable transport in Bristol. The Lady Mayoress was especially interested as she used to cycle past Hannah More every day on her way to work.

Hannah More was born on 2nd February 1745. She was passionate about education and used her wealth to set up schools in the Bristol area. Our Hannah More school was originally built on the site of Trinity Road Police Station using money that Hannah More left in her will. In 1943 the school moved to our current building.

We celebrated the 270th birthday of Hannah More today. She visted us and we learned about the way people lived way back in the late 1700s.

We also had a competition between the classes to make the best cake for Hannah More!
