Year 5 trip to see The Lion King

03 December 2019

Last week, on Wednesday 20th 2019,  Year 5 Owl and Dove were invited to go to the Hippodrome to watch the amazing Lion King!

When we got there, we saw hundreds of people waiting outside excitedly in a big queue. Luckily,  we were escorted by Ian through a different entrance. As we entered the seating area, it was bright and there was lots of stairs leading up to our seats.

The story of the Lion King is about animals in Africa and how a baby cub that is born is going to be the future king of a place called Pride Rock. But sadly Mofasa [his dad] died and the young cub gets scared and runs away. He meets new friends and experiences new things while he is away however it never feels like home.

In the show, two of the songs are called oh I just cant wait to be king and ‘He lives in me’. As we have performed the show ourselves, we knew the songs very well! The show started with some smoke and Rifiki came out on the stage…. she started chanting and suddenly the stage began to fill with amazing animals…

It was an amazing experience and we feel very lucky !
