26 June 2020

Welcome to week 12 - art week!

Good morning amazing Year 2s!

This week is art week! We have put activities for each day but you don't have to do them in this order if you don't want!

Miss Ellison-Smith: Monday afternoon for BFG class

Miss Burnett: Wednesday afternoon for Enormous Crocodiles

We are looking forward to speaking to you then!

Love Miss Ellison-Smith and Miss Burnett

Date for your diaries....

On Monday the 13th July we will be holding an event for Year 2 on the field (Enormous Crocodiles one side and BFG on the other).

This will be to catch up with you all, say goodbye and have a chance to meet your new teacher.

It will run between 1.30 and 3.00 and children should come onto the field by the gate at the bottom of the school field.

If you have any questions you can ask on your weekly phonecall or email us!

Today we are going to look at an artist called Andy Goldsworthy. You can read some information about him here.

Can you create some artwork using things you find from outside live leaves, flowers and stones.

Here are some examples….

Here is a video to learn how to draw a teddy bear. Can you follow the steps to do it?

Can you choose to draw something else from this youtube channel? We would love to see any photos of the things you have drawn!

This is Miss Ellison-Smith's go at a desert island...

A collage is a piece of art that is made by sticking lots of different materials together. You can use chopped up newspapers, magazines, cupcake cases, coloured paper, tissues, different foods or anything you can find around the house!

Here are some examples of collages of flowers, a person and a fish but you can do your collage of anything you want!

Pasta Pictures! Can you use rice and/or pasta to create a picture?  All you need is rice pr pasta, glue and some food colouring if you want to make your picture colourful!

Follow these instructions and video if you want to dye your food:  https://littlebinsforlittlehands.com/dye-rice-sensory-play-colored-rice/

Bisa Butler is an American artist who uses bold colours and patterns in her portraits of people - click here to read more about her. Can you draw yourself or a member of your family and then colour or paint it in Bisa Butlers style using patterns and bright colours?

Here is a portrait template in case you want it.
