Woodpecker Term 3

08 January 2016

Last term we watched a pantomime by year five. This was about Alibaba and the bongo bandits. It was hilarious. My favourite part was seeing year five dressed up in ragged old clothes.

We also watched the nativity by reception. It told a story of the birth of Jesus. I enjoyed watching the reception classes singing “little donkey”. Finally we had our class Christmas party. We played games, danced, ate our Christmas meal and we got presents from Miss Ramsay for golden time and wet play.

This week Tuesday was our first day back at school from the holidays. We started a new topic in maths, literacy and Science. In literacy we are learning about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We tasted some chocolates like Milky bar, Caramel and teasers. This was yummy and everyone wanted more and more. In maths we are learning about fractions. We have them for homework too. In topic we are learning about Funny Bones which is about our body. In science we are learning about nutrition and balanced diet. We created balanced diets for Miss Ramsay, Lisa and Vickie. We used all our groups of food like Carbohydrates, Minerals and vitamins, Dairy, Protein and Fats. Miss Ramsay could eat all off them. Lisa could not eat meat only eggs and fish for protein and Vickie could not eat wheat which is Carbohydrates. We also had a fun lesson acting out how food breaks down in our body which starts in your mouth to your stomach to your small intestine.
