This term, as part of local history week, Year 1 have been learning about John Cabot and his importance to Bristol history.
To make this learning memorable, Year 1 Elmer went on a special trip to visit the same ship (replicated) that John Cabot went on his adventure in! This ship is called The Matthew.
First, we went on a boat taxi through Bristol, looking at all the different bridges and buildings from the water.
Then, when we reached the Matthew, we boarded and became pirates!
We also got to look and learn about the ship, and how John Cabot and his crew would have travelled over 500 years ago.
