Monday 

English: We are orally retelling our story 'The Pirate Cruncher' in class. Can you watch the video of the Pirate Cruncher using this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ro5S_UdvWkI   Then use this story map in the picture below to create actions to the story. This will help you to retell it in your own words next week!

English: Can you sequence the story of the Pirate Cruncher? Put the pictures from the gallery below in the correct order on the 'S timeline' and add time adverbials to the pictures to explain the time they happened (e.g. first, then, next, soon after, finally.)

Maths:  Can you use your dienes to subtract?  Remember to draw how many tens and ones you start with and then cross them out to takeaway.

English:  Can you make a prediction? We are going to use the story of the Pirate Cruncher to help us predict what will happen in other stories.  Watch this story by the same author https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E4qmlFAQTw and pause it at 3 minutes 55 seconds. What do you think will happen next and why? Draw a picture to show your thinking and write a sentence for your prediction. Remember to think about how the story is similar to books we already know!

Maths: Can you use your dienes to subtract again? Make sure to check how many tens and how many ones you need to cross out carefully.
