Year 6 at Exmouth Day 2

13 September 2017

Our day started with a hearty breakfast of sausages, croissants, toast and cereal

- enough food to feed a small army (thanks Stuart!) Some of the boys found a new combination of sausages with peanut butter- even Mr Schoner enjoyed the combination!

After breakfast, we had our first tent inspections and we passed with flying colours. We got ready and walked to the beach with buckets, spades, Frisbees and the cricket set at the ready. Our normal beach was cut off because the tide was in so after a slight detour we went to a different beach. After a couple of hours we set off back to camp for lunch. A couple of seagulls got a bit too close for our liking!

Unfortunately, because of the wind, our fishing trip was cancelled in the afternoon so instead the lovely people from RedRock leisure came and ran 'archery tag' for us. It was great fun and is similar to dodgeball but with bows, arrows and face masks! When we finished, we had some free time where we played some sport, played hide and seek and chilled out in our tents.

We had a feast again for tea: today it was pasta bolognaise and garlic bread with cheesecake and squirty cream for pudding.

In the evening, the weather took a turn and we had a game evening in the hall out of the wind. Mr Schoner taught some children to play 'go fish' and Katherine taught a game of Dobble.

After hot chocolate we went to our tents but didn't stay there for very long... the wind picked up so we evacuated to the dining room and had (we think) the first ever Great Hannah More sleepover.
