Cat-like reflexes, super skills... introducing CYBORG CAT

When Ade moves to London from Nigeria, he knows things will be different, but nothing can prepare him for the ups and downs of his Parson's Road adventures. Ade doesn't always feel welcome in his new community; fitting in is hard, especially as he looks different to everyone else. But Ade is brave and takes on the school bullies, surprising himself and the kids on his new street. His heroic acts and super football skills quickly help him make new friends who will always be there for him.

Hello everyne, Miss Mahmood here reading Rise of the Parsons Rd Gang with you!

I've just read chapter one and already love this book! So this is a semi-autobiographical story by Ade Adepitan, it's going to be interesting to explore how he deals with feeling like he is different, has a disability and moving to the U.K.

I will write what I think and some questions for you to answer - in the comments box but remember not spoil what happens ahead!

Prologue

Questions:

Who is Ade Adepitan?

What T.V programmes have you seen him on?

What sport is he really good at?

What makes Ade different?

What is a autobiography?

Chapter 1 - Not a great breakfast

This chapter has really got me thinking... it must be really scary moving to a brand new country where you don't know anyone! I wonder if any of you have ever moved somewhere new, how did you feel?

Question:

Why does Ade think the other children will think he is weird and will laugh aat him? Write your answers in the comment box!
