School office
Welcome to the school office page. Here you can find and download information about the following:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
If your child is going in to Year 3 in September, you may need to register for free meals - they may no longer get a 'universal' free school meal.If you are claiming certain benefits then you can claim Free School Meals. Please apply online through the Bristol City Council website .The office can tell you if you have already registered and we will send text reminders before the school year starts.
Office staff can also help with questions about school menu, after school clubs, admissions, class trips, forms, holiday dates and contact information.
If your child is unwell please phone the office before 9:00am on 0117 9039936 to explain why they will not be in school.
If you call before the office is open, please leave a voicemail message with your child's name, class and the reason for their absence.
School Uniform and Lost Property
We now sell uniform online with Price and Buckland. You can see prices and order uniform at www.pbuniform-online.co.uk/hannahmore. Please see updated information here.
Details of the council's hardship scheme where you can apply for funding for uniform can be found here.
Please make sure your child's clothes are named - this will stop them from ending up in lost property. If Items are named then we are able to get them back to their owners. We recommend STIKINS Labels. They are really easy to use – no sewing or ironing – just stick them to the wash-care label. They are washing machine, tumble-dryer, dishwasher and even microwave-proof!
Use them on coats, clothing, lunch boxes, water bottles, shoes, bags, PE kits, glasses cases, trainers, phones etc. Make sure to quote our school code (8906) when ordering to help us raise much needed funds for the school with each purchase made!
The school day
Currently, school opens at 8.00am for families who wish to attend breakfast club. This is a free club and there is no need to book. Children in Reception classes need an adult to stay with them, but older children are welcome to come on their own. All children should sign in when they arrive. For more information about our Breakfast club, click here.
The school day starts from 8.45 when children should come in from the playground to their classes. Everyone should be in class by 8.50. Reception, Year 1 and year 2 children meet at the classroom doors and other children come straight in to their classes. We encourage people to be nice and early! This is a good time to catch up with friends in the playground. To minimise disruption, we ask that all parents use the main gate after 8.15, except if you need to come to the school office.
It is really important that children are ready to learn at 8.50; a late start disrupts your child's day and the whole class's learning!
Breaktimes are staggered. Year 3 and 5 go out at 10.30 and Year 2, 4 and 6 at 10.45. Lunch is 12 - 13.00 for all children. Children either have a school meal cooked in our on-site kitchen, or they bring a packed lunch. Please send your child with a healthy lunch. We also ask that NO NUTS are brought into school as we have children with nut allergies. If your child wishes to bring a snack for breaktime, this should be fruit or veg.
We have an assembly every day; this may be in class or a whole-school event. On Friday mornings at 9.00 we have a special celebration assembly which parents and carers are warmly invited to attend.
The school day ends at 3.15. The gate is opened a few minutes before the end of the day and is supervised by staff. We ask that all children are collected punctually.

Vision and values
At Hannah More Primary School, our vision is of a dynamic, engaged and thriving community that inspires ambition, pride and success in every child. We are currently reviewing our vision. Having met with governors, children, parents and staff, we will be deciding on our new vision statement in the coming weeks. The community will be voting on their choice!
Our values explore how we behave within our school:
Determination -The ability that all members of the school community demonstrate to 'stick at it'. The commitment to producing our best work, shown by every member of the community and our resilience in difficult circumstances.
Openness - The ability our school community has to communicate without pretence, reserve or defensiveness. Our lack of prejudice and our receptiveness to new ideas and arguments.
Nurture - The expertise our school shows at caring for and growing individuals.
Enjoyment - The fulfilment that all members of our school community are able to derive from their involvement and learning.
Respect - The fairness, understanding and acceptance that members of the school community demonstrate in all their dealings with each other. The message our school conveys publicly about valuing diversity and celebrating communities.
