Year 6 @Exmouth Camp - Day 3

15 September 2016

Wow! What another action packed day at Exmouth!

We started off the day with an early morning kick around before making our way to have our breakfast (cereal and beans on toast) in the dining hall. With swimming costumes on and towels at the ready, we walked down the zig zag steps at Orcombe point to meet our instructors for our watersports session. A lot of squeezing and squashing was done to get into our wetsuits.

We took to the water like ducks and we were soon paddle boarding and kayaking around the
bay and out to the sand bar. The balancing was tricky to start with but it got easier if you looked further away. Mr Webster wobbled around which meant he lost his sunglasses somewhere in the sea! We played a few games after and went back to the camp for a lunch of pasties.

In the afternoon, we played a few 'wide' games around the camp. We played 'sardines' and 'zombie apocalypse' which we all loved. The weather was so nice we then decided to go and spend some time on our favourite 'Private' beach which you can only get to via some steps near the camp. We got to the beach and the tide was high so we got straight in the sea and enjoyed an hour of swimming and wallowing about in the water! We walked back to camp, showered and had dinner (pizza, potato wedges and coleslaw).

Our day ended with a competitive game of rounders (Mr Schoner and Mr Webster to blame!) with Mr Webster's team just winning by 2 rounders. After our hot chocolate, praises and grumbles, we had our evening story and were almost all asleep before the story was finished. Here's to another jam packed day tomorrow!
