At Hannah More we are proud of our approach to learning and of the broad and balanced curriculum that we offer pupils.
Our school community is richly diverse and the local area has an interesting history which is constantly developing and changing. This is a great resource for learning and is used wherever possible to enhance the curriculum.
We are currently revising our school curriculum, so watch this space!

Speaking and Listening
From the very beginning to the very end of their time at Hannah More, children are given rich opportunities to talk, listen and build a wide vocabulary. We use activities such as:
‘Paired talking’ - where each child has a partner with whom they can share their ideas or opinions
‘Jigsaw’ - which uses groups of ‘expert’ children to whom the teacher explains the lesson and who then report back to their peers;
Role play and drama - which are incorporated into various stages of the reading-writing teaching sequence
Word and language games and talk games - which aim to stimulate and develop vocabulary and help children to develop their ability to speak and listen with confidence.
