Computing at Hannah More
Computing at Hannah More focuses on practical skills such as coding as well as teaching the importance of safe and appropriate use of technology. This helps children become confident and capable internet users.
Computing is also taught alongside other subjects such as Science and History where it is used to research, design, and present information. This allows children to see the links between computing and the real world.
Computing Curriculum at Hannah More
Computing is taught regularly in every year group. Each term the children have coding lessons using ‘Espresso Coding’, which teaches skills that are built on every year as the children progress through the school. These include: designing inputs and outputs, creating algorithms and debugging. In addition to this each year group will have a dedicated ‘E-safety’ lesson per term which follows our ‘Internet Legends’ programme of study. This focusses on privacy, security and respect.
