Year 5 Take a Pirate Tour

23 June 2016

On Wednesday 22nd June both Year 5 classes took part in a pirate tour around the floating harbour.

The pirate tour was led by Pete the Pirate. He took us around the docks explaining how Bristol was linked to Piracy during the 17th Century. We learned that one of the most famous pirates of that time was Blackbeard and that he was born right here in Bristol - we even saw the caves where he hid his treasure after he plundered and pillaged ships out in the Caribbean seas. We enjoyed the tour and used our knowledge to write non-chronological reports about Bristol Pirates back in class.
